COMMON QUERIES

WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol(CBD)- One of the most studied compounds of over 116 known cannabinoids found in hemp. Mortal Elixir products use hemp derived CBD as it can comprise up to 40 percent of the hemp plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating, meaning, it will not get you high. The list of uses for CBD continue to rise, giving more and more hope to those seeking to enhance their overall quality of life.

IS CBD LEGAL?

The 2014 federal Farm Bill granted state governments the legal right to grow and research industrial hemp through state-regulated agriculture and pilot programs. It also classified hemp and hemp-derived products with less than 0.3 percent THC separate from marijuana cannabis. With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, the growth, production, and manufacturing of hemp became federally legalized – allowing hemp-derived products, such as CBD oil, to become more readily available. Hemp is grown to have low THC (industrial hemp has 0.3 percent and is therefore federally legal). Congress' decision in 2014 legally allowed the cultivation of industrial hemp through state-regulated agriculture departments for hemp management and research; their most recent ruling in 2018 removes industrial hemp from the federal Controlled Substance List as a Schedule I drug, and it allows for a hemp market and sales through state borders. Regarding federal law, CBD oil products from hemp containing less than 0.3 percent are legal to purchase, sell, and consume throughout the United States.

WILL CBD TOPICALS GET ME HIGH?

No. There are two main reasons why it wont. CBD is not psychoactive in the way that THC is, meaning it won’t give you a feeling of being “high.” Second, even if there are traces of THC in your Remedy Bar, topicals rubbed into the skin don’t make it all the way down to the bloodstream. Think of it this way: have you ever used a lotion or hand sanitizer with alcohol? Did you get drunk? No.

CAN I OVERDOSE ON CBD?

Studies show CBD to be one of the safest substances with no known level of toxicity, making it virtually impossible to overdose. The amount of CBD absorbed through topical application is relatively low.You should feel confident in using as much topical CBD as you like. That said, you should always start any new skin care routine by using a small amount at first to make sure there are no adverse effects. Start small and work your way up.
